God birthed the ministry of Grace Assembly the same way he begins most ministries: by giving one person a burden. That person was Rev. Owen Carr. That burden was an intense awareness of the need for those in downtown Springfield to know Christ.
We began to meet in 2006. Without a building of our own at the time, we met at Lohmeyer Funeral Home and the SoMO District office. |

In early 2007 we purchased the building at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Market Street. The building was formerly a health food store but has since been completely renovated to become our church home. On Sept. 20, 2008, we held our first services there and are excited about what God is doing at Grace! |
